Make authentic homemade Greek chicken souvlaki served with warm pita bread and creamy tzatziki. A simple recipe full of Mediterranean flavors!
Ingredients :

For the Chicken:
- 2 chicken breasts
- 4 tbsp MYST Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp MYST Organic Oregano
- 5 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 tsp MYST Fine Salt of Olympus
- ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
For the Tzatziki Sauce:
- 1 medium cucumber, peeled, seeded and cut into small cubes
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- A pinch of salt
To Serve:
- 4 pita breads
- 2 small tomatoes, sliced
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions
- Prepare the marinade by whisking together the lemon juice, olive oil, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Cut the chicken breasts into 2 cm cubes, add them to the marinade, and mix well to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours.
- Meanwhile, prepare the tzatziki. Place the cucumber in a strainer to remove excess moisture. Mix with the garlic, Greek yogurt, dill, and a pinch of salt. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Thread the chicken onto skewers and grill over medium-high heat for about 5 minutesturning frequently until evenly cooked and lightly charred.
- Remove from the grill and let the skewers rest for 3 minutes.. Warm the pita breads on the grill or in a pan.
- Spread a generous amount of tzatziki down the center of each pita. Add the grilled chicken, sliced tomatoes, and red onion. Fold the pita and serve immediately.
