Moussaka Spice Mix

Description

The MYST spice mix for moussaka is crafted to deliver the authentic taste of Greek cuisine. With a balanced combination of allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg and selected aromatics, it enhances minced meat with deep flavor and a distinctive aroma reminiscent of homemade oven-baked dishes.

Ideal for traditional moussaka, as well as for minced meat sauces, stuffed vegetables and other cooked dishes.

Directions for use: Add 2 tsp (10 g) of seasoning mix per 500 g of minced meat during cooking together with tomato sauce.

Preparation:

Slice the eggplants and fry or bake them until softened. Cook the minced meat with tomato sauce and the seasoning mix until the sauce thickens. Layer eggplants and minced meat in a baking dish, add béchamel sauce and bake at 180°C for 35–45 minutes.
